Serden Siding is a siding specialist, not a general contractor that also does siding. We install and replace fiber cement, James Hardie, cedar, engineered wood, and vinyl, we repair siding and the dry rot that hides behind it, and we do not take work outside that lane. In a region where nearly every exterior failure traces back to water getting past a wall assembly, that focus is the whole point.
We are based in Vancouver, Washington and licensed in both states — Oregon CCB #239429 and Washington L&I #SERDEGL826PD — which matters more here than in most markets, because the metro straddles a state line and plenty of contractors are only credentialed on one side of the Columbia. We are credentialed on both, and both numbers appear on every estimate we hand you.
Our crews install to published manufacturer specification, not to whatever is fastest. Fastener type and placement, the gap at horizontal flashing, clearance above grade and roofing, and the barrier behind the boards are all specified by the people who warranty the product, and skipping any of them voids that warranty while creating exactly the moisture path the siding was installed to prevent. Doing it correctly takes longer. It is also the only version of this job worth paying for.

Things We Will Tell You That Others Might Not
When repair beats replacement. If your damage is localized and the wall assembly behind it is sound, we will quote a repair instead of the much larger job, and explain why. Selling you a full re-side you do not need is the fastest way to lose the referral behind it.
When a cheaper material is the right call. Fiber cement is our most-installed product and usually the best long-term value, but on a rental, a short-hold property, or a tight budget, premium vinyl is a legitimate answer. We will show you both sets of numbers rather than steering you to the bigger invoice.
When cedar is a bad idea. Cedar is the best-looking siding available and it punishes owners who will not re-seal it every three to five years. If maintenance is not realistic for you, we will say so before you spend the money, not after.
When another bid is better. Bring us a competing quote and we will read it with you line by line. If it covers the same scope for less, we will tell you that too.

Do you only do siding?
Siding and the assembly directly behind it — barrier, flashing, trim, and the dry rot repair that comes with it. We are not a general remodeler with a siding crew on the side, and that focus is the reason our details hold up.
Do you subcontract the work out?
Our siding installation is performed by crews we run and are accountable for, working to manufacturer specification. You get a named crew lead on your project rather than a rotating cast.

What warranty do you provide?
A written workmanship warranty delivered on completion, separate from and in addition to the manufacturer’s material warranty. Because we install to published manufacturer specification, that material warranty stays valid too — which is not true of every install in this market.
